| House Leader Craig Fitzhugh and Democrats are fighting for tax relief for working and middle class families by proposing a cut to Tennessee's unbearable Grocery Tax. Tennessee's Grocery Tax is one of the highest in the nation, and, especially in hard times, the Grocery Tax punishes families that are struggling to put food on the table. Tennessee Republicans like giving tax breaks and taxpayer-funded handouts to big corporations, but they've already said they'll oppose this tax cut for working and middle class Tennesseans. |
