District 62 "Meet the Candidate!" Conference Call with Nashville Volunteers!

In State House District 62, a hugely important, little known race is now underway. State Representative Curt Cobb recently resigned his seat to become Bedford County Commissioner. This left his seat open for any Democrat or Republican to fill. His brother, Ty, is the Democratic nominee, running against Republican Pat Marsh for the seat.

As you may or may not know, Republicans currently maintain a razor-thin. 50-49 majority in our state House of Representatives. Losing this Democratically controlled seat would spell disaster for Democrats, as it would give Republicans a 51-48 majority in our State House which would push issues like the economy and education farther back on the agenda, and it would be extremely hard to retake in 2010.

To prevent this disastrous turn of events, we must hold House District 62. To do this, we need people canvassing and phone calling into the district tirelessly until the October 13 election. Pat Marsh is extremely well financed, and thinks he can win through his money. Nonetheless, Ty has the support of the people of the district. And he has one thing Pat doesn't have: an army of volunteers working to ensure that District 62 has a person who sticks up for them in the General Assembly.
