Event Description

February 27, 2010, marks the 50th anniversary of the first arrests in the Nashville Sit-Ins. A group of brave students from across the city of Nashville risked pain and injury for a cause that they believed in. Through their nonviolent efforts, the process of desegregation began in Nashville.

Students from Vanderbilt, Lipscomb, Tennessee State, Fisk, The University of Memphis, and Middle Tennessee State will celebrate these students and look at what students today can do to create a better future.
