Does anyone know if GLBT issues were discussed at the Values Summit this past weekend? I haven't heard. Also...is anyone thinking about being a delegate to national convention?

Tomorrow is the big day for "Don't Say Gay" in the Senate.

There are a lot of things happening in the state legislature this week!

1. We need to stop the "Don't Say Gay" Bill from advancing in the state Senate. The bill was deferred last week and will be brought up again this week. Call or email your Senator today and tell them to vote NO on the bill!

 

2. This week, the Senate State and Local Government Committee will take up the Special Access to Discriminate Act... please, again, contact the committee and tell them to stay out of local government!

Also, it has recently come to light that the Tennessee Chamber of Commerce has endorsed the SAD Act. Contact their leadership and tell them that Tennessee's businesses will be better off when the state has inclusive non discrimination ordinances!

 

3. The state House has advanced a bill that would protect students from cyber bullying in Tennessee. Send a message supporting SB488 and help us make Tennessee safer for all of our youth!
