VOLUNTEERS NEEDED for Mobile Food Drop from Second Harvest
About 90 volunteers are needed on Saturday August 15 at Cravens Hall in Sewanee.
The Community Action Committee and Second Harvest Food Bank are sponsoring this event. They need approximately 30 to accompany the guests and their carts through the food pick-up and to their cars, about 25 to handle inventory and distribution (one for each separate item of food), 4 door attendants, 4 parking lot attendants, 6 “floaters” to handle questions and problems, 4 to take care of beverages for guests, 8 for the community fair downstairs, and 8 for registration.
A maximum of only 30 guests at a time can "shop" (or however many grocery carts there are available) so there will be time for registering folks while they wait for a cart.
After registration, each guest will be given a shopping list with his/her number on it so s/he gets the next available cart. The shopping list is checked off as the guest picks up each item. At the end of the shopping visit, the volunteer will help load items out of the cart into the guest’s vehicle and turn in the shopping list. This will provide a cross-reference for what every guest receives.
All volunteers will report to Cravens by 9 a.m. Saturday, August 15, for training, set-up and preparation. To Volunteer, Contact Community Action Committee:

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED for Grundy County Food Bank - WalMart Repackaging
Grundy County Food Bank needs volunteers on Mondays and Thursdays from 12:30 pm - 2:00 pm to help with breaking down the large quantities of food received from WalMart into smaller units that can be distributed to families and individuals. The Grundy County Food Bank is located behind the old high school in Tracy City, TN.
