I'm sorry to see Kim go this way but when I look at the republican candidates it makes me appreciate our other Democratic candidate.
When I look at the Tennessee House and Senate (and what has been going on there) I realize that we have plenty of cause and many good candidates to push to help Tennessee into the 21st century against those who seem to be trying to retard this state even further. Keep hope alive and KEEP UP THE WORK make the good stuff happen! ... And remember that the Tennessee House will redraw the U. S. House districts after the November election and remember how important the Tennessee House races are in this respect. Let's take back the House!

Angela -

I agree with everything you said. I am extremely disappointed that Kim is not staying in the race. I have always believed that she was the strongest and most experienced candidate for the job.

Dear Kim Supporters,
This group was one of the first groups developed to support a candidate. I thank all of you for joining. I am very disappointed by Kim's decision and whatever circumstances led to that decision. I believe she was the absolute best qualified to lead the top of our ticket in 2010 and to lead our state. I also think she worked extremely hard to build a campaign that reached across racial, economic, and social classes.

Ultimately, I am disappointed about the loss of choice for this election. Elections are supposed to be about having a voice and having a choice and that includes primaries. A strong democratic process involves and must include choices. It is unfortunate that we will not have that choice, this election.

Stacy,
Thank you for letting us know about this. I read the article earlier today and was trying to decide what I wanted to do about it including whether or not I wanted to acknowledge it. I think you're right, we should respond.

An opinion piece came out in the Nashville Scene today basically writing off Kim McMillan as a viable candidate. We know this is wrong. We are a strong grassroots campaign that focuses on our mission to move Tennessee forward and bring supporters together to have our voices heard.

You and I know that Kim is the candidate with the experience, leadership, vision to be our next Governor and move Tennessee forward.

Take a minute to show your support by commenting on this article in the Scene (http://bit.ly/dj56HG) in support of Kim.

Democratic gubernatorial candidate, Kim McMillan, will be a guest on the Hubert Smith show this Sunday at 10:00am Eastern Time on 90.3 The Rock WUTK-FM. Listeners can also tune in at www.WUTKradio.com

This will be a great opportunity for people in East Tennessee to hear Kim McMillan's message of educational growth and partnership for the economic future of Tennessee. Kim's appearance on the Hubert Smith show will mark the second time in as many weeks that Kim McMillan has reached out to the East Tennessee community. Last Friday she spent the day in Roane County meeting with Tennesseans at several public events. Then she attended the opening of the East Tennessee Regional Headquarters of the Democratic Party in Knoxville with the Chair of the TNDP, Chip Forrester and local party chair, Gloria Johnson. Saturday, Kim delivered the keynote address to the largest gathering in several years of the Boyd Cloud Democratic Club!

Kim's campaign remains strong and is growing its grass-roots base to reach across all 95 counties of Tennessee and engage all Tennesseans in moving the state and its citizens forward in 2010 and beyond! To learn about Kim, please visit http://www.kimmcmillan.com

I remain as excited and engaged as a volunteer in Kim's campaign since I first met her in 2008! I urge everyone to tune in to Hubert Smith's show to listen to her message, learn about her experience, and to call in with questions and ideas for Kim McMillan!

I accidentally stated earlier that Kim served in both branches of the legislature. I meant to write that Kim served in both the legislative and the executive branches. I apologize for the error.

Please go vote for Kim Today at the Knox Views Poll. She WON the last poll that included the three candidates. She is currently down and it would be great if she could win another "poll." Please vote for her here
