The Tennessee Senate Education Committee passed a bill to be sent to the Senate floor on Wednesday making it illegal for our local McNairy County Education Association to negotiate a contract with the local school board on such issues as classroom size, planning time, textbook selection, retirement benefits, salary, ect. This is a direct attempt to weaken the voice of teachers in education! Does this sound like something we should do? I think not! Please notify the Chair of the Senate Education Committee, Deloros Gresham and express your support for teachers.
