Hi Friends! Check out the pics from our recent "Stop Marsha/Go Greg" Rally that about 75 supporters and I held across from the Gaylord Opryland Hotel the night of Sarah Palin's speech to the Tea Party convention. tell us what you think. Thanks again to everyone who braved the cold and helped really get this campaign heated up!

She's got Brentwood-TN Republican money. Greg's up against a tough candidate because of that. They love her because she is a good little soldier and can memorize talking points like nobody else. I can't vote for him, I'm in Lincoln Davis's district, unfortunately, but I can certainly encourage my friends and colleagues in Brentwood to do so.

I asked Marsha's office, in TN and in DC, to at least send me the correct form letter to show they got my message correctly, but they declined.

Mike,
I have had the same experience with Marsha--a drawer full of "form letters" from her all beginning with "How nice it was to hear from you". That's why I am supporting Greg. He's going to need all of us helping him to win this fight, so not only do we need to tell our friends and neighbors about him, but we can help him spread his message by contributing to his campaign and encouraging others to do the same. www.rabidoux4congress.com. We can't do it soon enough. Every bit helps. Greg cannot go after her without money, plain and simple, and lots of it.
Eric, how can Greg answer yes or no without being there for the debate. I mean I watch TV and hear what people are saying and I think the current bill is better than nothing, and I think I would vote for it, but how could I be positive about that with the info I currently have?

Greg, I hope you're going to go after Marsha Blackburn with all you can. This woman is a parrot who spews talking points for the Republican Party at every turn. I wrote to her, and called her, to ask for her to participate in the health care reform process, to support real reform and not toe the Republican Party's line. I told her how many people in her district were suffering, friends of mine who lived there who had lost their jobs, their insurance with it, who were losing their homes, cars, and in a real bind. I told her about children with developmental disabilities, even those with the most mild cases of them, being legally denied health insurance policies in the state of TN, and a list of other reasons why this issue deserved her support.

What did I get back, Greg?

I got back a form letter thanking me for joining with her in her "fight against President Obama's takeover of the health care system."

Now of course, the President did not write that bill for Congress, there is no actual government takeover of anything in the bill, but that didn't stop her from parrot talking. To send me a form letter thanking me for supporting her, when I clearly said exactly the opposite, shows you how much Marsha Blackburn listens to the people of TN.

I now live in Lincoln Davis's district, so I can't vote for you, but I can surely encourage my friends in your district to do so. I hope you're going to be very, very aggressive, because Marsha fights dirty.

I'll ask again my question again:

Would you vote in favor of the current Health Care Bill?
Ben Vos Comment by Ben Vos on December 23, 2009 at 9:05am
Hey, Greg - it's good to hear from you. Hope you and Mara are doing well and enjoying this time of getting acquainted with folks in District 7. "Better than Marsha" is a very low bar ... but I think you far exceed that standard. You'll do a great job and Tennessee is blessed to have someone like you looking out for their best interests.

I also want to briefly address Eric's question-Let me just say this for now, reform is frequently a difficult task. There are lots of powerful, vested interests who fight tooth and nail to any change. It's not a perfect bill but on balance it does offer coverage to many who don't now have it. I do hope that this is not the end but in some ways the beginning as we continue to fix our healthcare system. Let's watch the votes and let's review the final bill more and of course I'll have more to say in the coming year.

If I don't get a chance again, I want to wish everyone in my group a Happy Holiday and Merry Christmas! I appreciate all of your support, in-put, caring and concern about the challenges we all face together. Don't ever doubt the power of collectivity as opposed to allowing others to divide or polarize us. From the start, I have been talking about the need to be united in our efforts and I believe this more than ever. Albert, you couldn't be more "on spot" with your comment. We get enough of our fellow Tennesseans in District 7 to say "NO" to the current incumbent and we'll change those No's to more helpful and representative "yes's." Don, you are also correct in that compromise is often a necessary approach to trying to move ahead on issues.
Albert Brown Comment by Albert Brown on December 22, 2009 at 9:29pm
Has anyone noticed those commercials that say "call your congressman and tell him to say NO" to climate change or healthcare.
Well we in the 7 dist. don't have that problem because Marsha votes NO on everything that would help the people of her district.
