Lets push for more laws that REQUIRE the President to be open and honest and show proof before going to war. I already know what the Constitution says but we need to REQUIRE more proof and not allow a future President to invade another country without proof. We should NEVER allow our troops to go to war on the words of one person as this congress did with Bush. I am asking for a discussion on how to PREVENT a future president from going to war, our constitution allowed Bush to invade. We need to close the loop hole he opened. Idea's?

Thanks for starting this discussion. I hope others add their thoughts.

Here are some of mine:
1) The Bush administration did have proof (or at least appeared to have proof) of WMD and terrorist alliances when it asked congress for permission to invade Iraq. Although the quality of the evidence was later revealed to be poor, at the time few suspected this to be the case.

In sum, I'm not sure what more can be done to prevent an unjust war and slow down the war process than to require an affirming vote from congress.

2) What "loop hole" has Bush opened?
