Is it true that HB 798 by Rep. Stacy Campfield (R-Knoxville)/SB 1261 by Sen.
Dewayne bunch (R-Cleveland) – Authorizes full-time faculty and staff at public schools, colleges, and universities in Tennessee to carry handguns if not otherwise prohibited by law. Amends TCA, Title 39, Chapter 17, Part 13.????????????????????
What's to prevent some kid accidentally acquiring a gun? I don't care how careful anyone is - having guns, and kids, together does not seem like a smart combination.
Imagine your first-grader sitting in class while the teacher walks around with a big gun on their hip?

I cannot believe the absolute ignorance of Stacy Campfield, or his outrageous pandering to the right wing nuts who vote in that district with outlandish ideas like teachers carry firearms in their kindergarten classes. Justin, what was the outcome of this? Did this pass? Has it been voted on yet? I am a responsible firearm owner, hunter and have owned and used firearms most of my life, but never in my mind have I ever considered it a great idea to allow teachers to walk the halls of the schools with a pistol strapped on their side. But considering that Stacy Campfield thought it was a great idea to carry guns to health care town hall meetings, this is no surprise.

I would not be surprised at all if the Republicans have proposed such a proposterous idea. The only thing that would surprise me was if they weren't encouraging the the children to carry guns, I suppose this is how they maintain those big campaigns funds, dirty money from the NRA. Here, in Chattanooga, I had a college Professor tell me he believed all students should be able to carry guns on college campuses and into high schools for protection. Despite the large presence of police officers all over campus. Guns do not belong in any learning enviroment unless its for gun safety, where have the Republicans lost there common sense? What happened to logical and sensible legislation? We must do whatever we can to replace these representatives who continue to make our state look backwards. THEY MUST BE REPLACED!!!!!!!!!!
