30% Alternative Energy By 2020 Will Make Us Good Stewards in Tennessee
What's the matter with Congress? We waited patiently while they attempted to reform the energy industry but big oil and big coal decided they liked it just the way it was. In Washington they don't mind if gas goes to $4 a gallon and our electric bills go out of site. To all the big dogs in Washington we're just a bunch of fire hydrants. I would rather take my chances in Tennessee.

Sen.Lamar Alexander's new book, "Going To War In Sailboats", reminds me of Slim Pickens bull riding a nuclear warhead out of a jet plane at the end of the dark comedy Dr. Strangelove. THE BOTTLED UP BILL
Tennesseans annually consume the contents of 4.5 billion plastic bottles. Too bad we can't consume the bottles too. There is, however, an excellent bill in the state legislature that would correct this problem, but the convenience store industry and their lobbyists don't like it. Over half the legislators don't support it either, even though 80% of Tennesseans thought it was a good idea, according to an MTSU poll conducted in September 2009. - what happened at saturday's meeting?is closure on for-profit health insurance as the problem an outcome of the panel/forum?the other worst thing to do besides nothing is to partner with private insurance on medigroup(universal health care/coverage).private insurance companies will lobby to produce a bill in congress to guarantee that medigroup will be carrying those who will be excluded by private coverage.this is a win-for-private health insurance and guaranteed failure for single-pay coverage.
