The McNairy County Democratic Party is sponsoring a fundraiser event for Mike McWherter for Governor. The event is at Wayne Elam's Country Store on Unity Church Road in Ramer. All the surrounding counties are welcome to attend. BBQ Boston Butts and Catfish will be served. Come out and visit with Mike McWherter.

Patrons cite the end of McMillan’s campaign as primary reason


NASHVILLE - University School of Nashville’s Democratic Primary “Moving Tennessee Forward” forum has been cancelled. USN Democrats President Cyrus Shick cited Kim McMillan’s decision to end her gubernatorial bid and run for Clarksville Mayor as the primary reason.

“We were very excited to do this forum. This was a hard decision for us, but due to certain scheduling conflicts with the McWherter campaign and the recent decision by McMillan to drop out of the race, we viewed this as positively inviable.”

“We hate to cancel on such short notice, but there was just no way it could have been worked out.” said Shick. “We congratulate Mike McWherter on his nomination and we wish the best of luck to Rep. McMillan on her race for Mayor.”

The forum was to take place at the University School of Nashville Auditorium in Nashville on April 13th.
