For the record, Ward Cammack has said he will ban mountaintop-removal mining as our next governor.

The last two lines defines my opinion on this issue. The Republican majority will only tarnish the image of the Grand Assembly further. Their move to enforce religion and serve themselves and big business will stir people that normally don't…

Thanks for the compliment, Olivia. Ward is committed to making this campaign a two-way conversation between the voters and him. We're going to be as interactive as possible.

Wamp, Ramsey, Republicans Plot Fundraising Shenanigans

From the Chattanooga Times Free Press 05/22/2009:

Wamp, McCormick discussed lifting caps

NASHVILLE — Republican gubernatorial hopeful Zach Wamp, who would benefit from an amendment eliminating restrictions on campaign contributions, contacted Rep. Gerald McCormick, R-Chattanooga, who is pushing the proposal, the state lawmaker said Thursday.

“I think its fair to say he’s supportive of it,” said Rep. McCormick, a Wamp supporter, but he noted,… Continue

Mark -

Haven't decided who I am supporting yet but am leaning towards Roy Herron whom I've known for more than 25 years or possibly Kim McMillan. Would love to know more about your guy.

Morgan County is great. We have so much going on. Tomorrow we break ground for 43 more families to get water and on a T-21 project that will put sidewalks & lighting through the town of Wartburg for the Cumberland Trail. Awesome!!!!! Hope all is well with you!

Hey, Mark! Thanks for the article from Ward - it's a strong piece, well-written, and much-needed.

AIG in Tennessee is trying to distance itself from AIG, but we all remember the past and we know what happened.

Ward was out in front of this issue 10 years ago when no one was listening. Now, we have someone ready to lead who understands what really drives sustainable growth.

I REALLY liked what I read about Ward Cammack in the Memphis Flyer last month:
“We're hearing a lot of argument about 'socialism.' The socialism we're seeing, so-called., is really just cleaning up the mess made by freemarkets, so-called. 'Free markets' is really a misnomer. Markets are not entirely efficient. They probe in various directions until they find they can't go any further.”

Cammack sees many of today's economic problems – those of the slumping automobile and housing industries, for example -- as stemming from having converted all businesses into “finance industries” rather than focusing on innovation and technological change. Though he prefers to use terms like “energy grid” rather than the current nonce-word“green,” he proposes to deal with problems of industry and business from the standpoint of reducing costs and respecting the reality of “finite resources.”

“We've obfuscated change for so long on so many fronts,” says Cammack, who proposes that Tennessee set out to lead the nation on exploring the uses of renewable energy.

It's early in the campaign season and I have a disclaimer: If Pilot Oil immediately adds hydrogen, electric, biodiesel and naturals gas infrastructures to all of their refueling centers along all points of the Al Gore, Sr. Memorial Highway and key urban areas, I will vote republican in 2010 : )
