The Official Community for Tennessee's Democrats

This is just a venting on my part so here it goes.... My question for you to ponder is, "How did chain email forwards, somehow become a news source to some????? People I work with still swear President Obama is a Muslim, People I know still think that HR-3200 has a "Death Panel" or a "Kill Granny Clause", all because they read it in an email! This is always how I know that I am about to begin an argument with a moron, when they right off the bat say, "Well I got this email and it said......" WTF, learn the facts and then come back to me

Because people are stupid and lazy. It would appear we need to turn off the TV/Internet and open a book. Maybe if we get health care reform out of the way we should focus on education reform.

No matter what the topic the same is always true...Repeat somthing often enough and people will beging to believe it..weather it be e-mail, or talking heads...in the case of the health care debate I am beginning to see common sense returning to some confused voters.

Oh, I forgot to mention that in that poll four percent were unsure if Hawaii was a state.

TEN PERCENT OF THE FOLKS IN THIS POLL HAVE NO CLUE WHAT THE NAMES OF OUR FIFTY STATES ARE!

All the GOP seems to have left is fear, ignorance and as we have seen during the Robin Smith era of the TNGOP zenophobia run amuck.

Six percent of respondents in a recent Public Policy Polling Institute poll believed Hawaii is not part of the country!

I never thought myself any brighter than anyone else but this does make one ponder!

the sad thing is that a lot of "jounalists" don't do any better job of qualifying their sources than regular people.

Because they are convenient. Society is lazy and doesn't want to think independently, they want someone else to establish the talking points for them. And it's funny because more often than not you'll hear someone say , "Well, THEY say Obama is a going to euthanize granny.." And who exactly is "they?"
