What an historical day for Americans! Congress passed the long awaited Health Care Reform Bill. It ended up being a bipartisan bill thanks to Rep. Joseph Cao of New Orleans. This is so wonderful. The next step, of course, is the Senate vote. It is time to begin badgering our Senators.

Republican lies did not help them on killing the health care bill. First of all, they are saying this is a 'government take over' of our health care. This is simply not true! This health care bill will make quality affordable heath care available to everyone. It will even take some of the burden of medicaid off the middle class.

Anyway, this is an amazing day in America. As for the future of health care reform, I urge the Democrats to keep fighting on for health care!

Until next time: America bless God

I cannot. My knowledge of how Washington works is very limited.

Thanks again, Cyndi:

I agree with you on the most part, but it doesn’t take any real time for our President Obama to fulfill some of his campaign promises. To name a few, can you tell me why he hasn’t done any of the below:

1. No Lobbyist in the White House
2. No Earmarks (Pork-Barreling) in the Budget or any bills, and putting every pork barrel project online. In other words, make it "impossible" for Congressmen to slip in pork barrel projects.
3. Change in Position on Immigration – Simply enforce the current laws on immigration.
3. Make government open and transparent.
4. Meetings where laws are written will be more open to the public.
5. Public will have 5 days to look at a bill.
6. No more secrecy.

I would think, Eric, that it would take more than 10 months to fix 8 years of Bush-ism.

Thank you Cyndi, but can you name me anthing he has fixed?

Good point, Eric. Our nation is in a terrible economic crisis. I certainly am not saying that I am not concerned about the economy but I am very passionate about people getting the health care they need. Maybe getting health care fixed is a step, a baby step perhaps, towards easing some of the economic woes. It seems, Eric, that our President has inherited a whole lot of things that need fixing and I guess that we all have our personal favorites when it comes to the issues at hand.

I have a question, why is our Democratic Party placing health care reform as our Nations number one priority? Especially, when Obama himself said, "our Nation is facing the worst economic crisis since the Great Depression. We were losing an average of 700,000 jobs per month. Credit was frozen. And our financial system is on the verge of collapse."
