Tennessee Democratic Party

The Official Community for Tennessee's Democrats

So glad to see the paltry number of votes for the challengers to Cooper's district. I hope its the end of these "candidates" and they'll turn their support behind Cooper now, but we know for certain that "one of them" won't because he doesn't understand that he isn't a real Democrat. At least we no longer have to hear about him running with his spam on every teabagger message board around the country now.

In my district, Lincoln Davis had no challenger, but I could not bring myself to vote for him anyway. I just could not in good faith vote for that man after seeing how much he has voted against our party left and right, especially on health care.

I was particularly shocked at home many positions had no Democratic nominees put forth, I literally skipped over a whole page of candiadates because it was all Republicans, and as God is my witness I will never, ever vote for a Republican as long as I live.

I also would not vote for Lincoln Davis. I believe in supporting the Democrats who show loyalty to their Democratic constituents and the Democratic Party. Overcoming the climate of partisan politics and obstructionism that exists in this country now requires courage and strength from our elected Democratics.

I totally agree with your last sentence. What I want to know is WHY weren't there any Democrats for us to vote for? Don't tell me there is no one qualified, if the Repubicans have taught us nothing else in the last year and a half, it's that any brainless moron can attain and hold the highest offices in our country!! All we need is a name, ANY NAME, on the ballot with a (D) behind it!!

Did it never occur to the Democratic Party that states like TN, SC, and even TX might not be as Republican as they once were! If you just gave people a CHOICE, you might be surprised! Look at Alvin Green in SC, no one knew either of the Dems on the ballot, and Alvins name was first..... and he got more votes alone than the Republicans together! Sure, sincerely great candidates would be preferred, but if there isn't even a Democrat on the ballot then we're just GIVING whole states to Republicans without a fight.

Please! get it together!
