How to win an election if You are a Republican, you start with an issue, Real or Imagined, Just something that you can tell voters it is wrong, then You hammer your opponent with that issue, you send out your minions saying look how bad this is he gave his family preferential treatment over other families, until it catches on then others start talking, and it turns into a torrent of opposition against your opponent.

This only works if Your Democrat opponent decides to take the High Road, and not fight fire with fire. If he Tries to stay above the accusations, and run on his character (which you have already brought into question) or his record which you have used against him, you can walk right into his position laughing at how easy it was, and how he cooperated in his own loss.
