Metro Nashville Non-Discrimination Ordinance Filed

On Tuesday, Metro Council members Megan Barry, Tim Garrett, Ronnie Steine, Jerry Maynard, Sandra Moore, Anna Page, Sean Maguire, Mike Jameson, Erik Cole, and Buddy Baker filed an ordinance with the Metro Clerk that would protect Metro government employees on the basis of sexual orientation and gender identity. You can find the text here. Later the same day, Mayor Karl Dean came out publicly in support of the ordinance.

The first reading of the ordinance takes place on Tuesday, July 21.
