The talk TEP has heard is that the Metro Council may consider a non-discrimination ordinance in July that would protect Metro government employees from discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity or expression.
We urge all Davidson County residents to contact the 5 At-Large Council Members by clicking
this link. The same link will also give you information about contacting your District Council Member.
* All Metro employees deserve the same non-discrimination policy as Metro teachers. Let’s put it in writing!
* An inclusive policy makes Metro a more competitive employer since other area employers such as Vanderbilt University and Bank of America have already adopted similar policies.
* Inclusive employment policies make Nashville a more welcoming city and would build on our city’s success in defeating the English-only measure
* Other Southern cities like Atlanta, Louisville, New Orleans, and Chapel Hill already have such policies
* It costs nothing to put in place!
