We found money to kill, we can find money to heal

Friends, we all know that health care MUST be reformed. I myself have never lived one single day with out private health insurance, I am VERY fortunate, but I do pay dearly for the insurance that I have, and all the while at ANY moment I can be denied a benefit because, it can be "experimental" or some other jargon. As HR-3200 says if you ARE satisfied with your current plan you can keep it, wow who would have thunk? I do feel that if there is no public option then there will be no reform, a public option would even benefit me a privatly insured individual.... the public option I feel would "police" the private firms, so that health care would become about people and not profits. With every citizen having access to health care, we will become a better nation, no more elderly citizens having to decide between, heat or health, food or medicine. I feel as if we will seen the decline of catastrophic illness because we will have access to pre-screening, mamograms, pap test, prostate exams you get it. Our citizens should have better access to mental health treatment, every child should be able to get the anti-biotic, the cough syrup, and WHAT EVER else they need. We all understand that this must take sacrific from all the citizens, I understand I may have more take out of my pay so that my elderly neighbor on oxygen will have what he needs to survive and thrive, he has always been a productive member of our society, he has worked he has contributed his whole life, it is time for me to take care of him. Not because it is socialist, because it is CHRISTIAN.... that's right I said it. The Bible states love your neighbor as yourself, I love myself enough to go to the doctor when I am sick, I love myself enough to take medicines that I need on a daily basis, should he be denied the same? In closing I want to say, under the previous president he found the money to Kill in Iraq, we must band together and find the money to HEAL in the USA. I can not say it enough we MUST tell congress how we feel, write letters, make calls go to their office, make our voices heard.

Correct! We spend around $700 billion each year in military expense. This is more than nearly all other nations combined and yet we could not win in Korea, Vietnam, and now we are unable to properly secure Iraq and Afghanistan. Confusing. Maybe it is the wasteful spend-like paying contractors to drink liquor off of each other butts (I was horrified) or maybe it is poor planning or bad strategy but I think we could spare a little of that $700 billion on health care reform. Great post Jennifer. i always enjoy reading your point of view.

Enough people willing to raise a ruckus can get it done but it takes a lot to scare a jaded politician into acting on behalf of his constituents
